About credit-repair.org
Free credit education tools for every stage of credit recovery — no signup, no fees, no data sold.
Our Mission
Credit laws in the United States are written to protect consumers — but most people never use them because they don't know they exist or how to exercise them. The FCRA gives you the right to dispute inaccurate items. The FDCPA limits what collectors can do. The statute of limitations on debt is publicly available state law. None of this requires a paid service to access.
credit-repair.org builds free, self-help tools that translate these public rules into specific answers for your specific situation. We are not a credit repair company. We publish software and educational content. We never charge consumers, never act on their behalf, and never contact bureaus or creditors on anyone's behalf.
How the Site Works
1. Tools
Each tool takes your specific numbers — state, balance, dates, debt type — and returns a specific answer grounded in the actual rule. No generic advice. Browse all 15 tools.
2. Articles
Every article starts with a direct answer to a real question. Worked examples use the tools to show exactly how the calculation works. No intro filler, no upsells.
3. Self-help
You act on your own behalf. Letters you generate, you send. Disputes you file, you file. We provide the tools; you retain full control and full credit for the outcome.
CROA Compliance Summary
The Credit Repair Organizations Act (15 U.S.C. §1679 et seq.) regulates companies that provide credit improvement services for consumer payment. credit-repair.org does not fall within that definition for three reasons:
- No consumer fees: All tools and content are free. We take no payment from consumers. Revenue comes solely from advertising and affiliate partnerships with compliant financial products.
- No acting on behalf of consumers: Our tools generate documents the user sends, not us. We never contact any bureau, creditor, or collector on a consumer's behalf.
- Software publisher, not service provider: We publish software that helps consumers exercise rights they already have. Publishing software is not providing a credit repair service.

Expert Review
Every tool methodology page and article requires expert review before publication. YMYL (Your Money, Your Life) content — anything touching credit, debt, or legal rights — is reviewed by qualified professionals before it carries a "reviewed" status. Content pending review is labeled accordingly. If you find an error or have a correction, please contact us.
