Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of credit-repair.org. We have tried to write them the way we write everything else here — in plain English, without traps. Using the site means you accept them.
What This Site Is
credit-repair.org is a free, non-commercial credit-education resource. We publish explanatory articles and interactive tools that help you understand your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and related consumer-protection law, and act on them yourself.
That last word matters: yourself. Everything on this site is designed so that you do the work. We hand you the information, the math, and the draft language. You decide what to do with it.
What This Site Is Not
- We are not a credit repair organization. We do not sell, provide, or perform any service to improve your credit record in exchange for payment. See our CROA disclosure for the full analysis.
- We are not a law firm and we are not your attorney. Nothing here creates an attorney-client relationship, and nothing here is legal advice.
- We are not a financial advisor, credit counselor, or debt settlement company. Nothing here is personalized financial advice.
- We never act on your behalf. We do not contact bureaus, creditors, or collectors for you. We do not dispute anything for you. We do not negotiate for you.
- We never charge you. There is no paid tier, no upsell, and no payment step. If a page ever asks you to pay us for credit repair, it is not us — please report it.
No Advice — Verify Before You Rely
The content and tools on this site are provided for general educational purposes only. Credit reporting and debt collection law varies by state, changes over time, and turns on facts specific to your situation. A statute of limitations, a reporting period, a score change, or a settlement figure produced by one of our tools is an estimate based on the inputs you provided — not a determination of your legal rights.
Before you rely on anything here, confirm it against your actual credit reports, the original agreement, and current law — and consult a licensed attorney or credit counselor in your state for advice about your specific circumstances. Deadlines in particular are unforgiving: if a limitations period or a dispute window matters to your situation, verify it independently.
Your Responsibilities
Anything you send to a credit bureau, creditor, collector, or court is your communication, sent under your name, on your judgment. Letters generated here are drafts for you to review, edit, and decide to send. You are responsible for their accuracy.
In particular, you agree not to use this site to submit information you know to be false, to dispute information you know to be accurate, or to take any action intended to mislead a bureau, creditor, or court. Disputing accurate information wastes your time and can undermine legitimately disputed items.
Accounts
Every tool on this site works without an account. If you choose to sign in — with Google or with an emailed sign-in link — we create a lightweight account so we can remember you between visits. There are no passwords.
You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, since anyone who controls your inbox can request a sign-in link. Do not sign in from a device you do not trust, and sign out when you are done on a shared one. We may suspend or remove an account that is being used to abuse the site.
You can ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to chadananda@gmail.com. What we store, and for how long, is described in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable Use
You may use this site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, and you may share links to it freely. You may not:
- Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically harvest the content, or use it to train a commercial model without written permission.
- Attempt to disrupt the site, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or circumvent any access control.
- Resell, repackage, or present our content or tools as your own, or use them as part of a paid credit-repair service.
- Use the site in any way that violates applicable law.
Several tools are published as embeddable web components. You are welcome to embed one on your own site provided you keep the attribution link intact and do not charge for access to it.
Content & Intellectual Property
The articles, tools, and design on this site are our work and remain our property, except where we quote statutes, regulations, or agency materials — those are public and belong to everyone. You are free to quote us with attribution.
Some content is drafted with AI assistance and reviewed before publication. Where a page carries an expert-review byline, that review has taken place; where it does not, treat the page as unreviewed background reading.
Third-Party Links, Ads & Affiliates
We link to regulators, statutes, and outside resources, and some pages carry advertising or affiliate links. Those links help keep the site free. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, products, or practices — their terms and privacy policies govern once you leave.
An affiliate relationship never changes what a tool tells you. Our tools' outputs are computed from your inputs and the law, not from who pays us.
No Warranty
This site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any calculation, date, or draft it produces is accurate or complete.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss of credit opportunity, profits, or data, arising out of your use of this site — including any action you take or decline to take based on its content or tools.
Because we provide this site free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to it is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes to the Site & These Terms
We may add, change, or retire tools and articles at any time, and we may update these terms. When we make a material change we will update the date at the bottom of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing here waives any right you have under the FCRA, the FDCPA, CROA, or any other consumer-protection law — those rights are yours regardless of what any agreement says.
